# Introduction

> What StratEngine produces for strategy work, what you need to bring, and the four ways to start a project.

StratEngine turns a business question into a researched strategy brief, framework analyses and a branded deck you can take into a real meeting. You describe your company and the decision in front of you, by conversation or by form, and StratEngine's analysis engine does the research and writes the output.

## What you put in

* **Your company.** Name, industry, business model, customers, products and market. Save it once as a [saved company](/docs/strategy/saved-companies) and every new analysis starts from it.
* **The problem.** The decision, challenge or goal you want help with.
* **Private documents (optional).** Plans, board decks and customer research that aren't public. StratEngine searches them alongside public sources in every analysis. See [Private documents](/docs/strategy/private-documents).
* **Attachments (optional).** Files you attach during a Strategy Builder conversation.
