# Run Business Model Canvas in StratEngine

> Run a Business Model Canvas in StratEngine to lay out how your company creates, delivers and captures value. Available on every plan.

A Business Model Canvas run lays out how the company you describe makes money, from who it serves to what it costs to operate, across nine building blocks. It's a **Foundational** framework, so it's included on the Free plan and every plan above it.

<Note>
  Business Model Canvas is available on Free, Essential and Professional plans, and on pay-as-you-go. See [Strategy plans](/docs/strategy/billing/plans).
</Note>

## When to use it

* You're starting a business or a new line and want the whole model written down in one place.
* You're explaining the business to investors, a board or a new hire.
* Growth has stalled and you want to see which part of the model is under strain.
* You're comparing your model with a competitor's.

## What you get

The **Components** tab opens with an **Executive Summary**, then nine sections under **Framework Details**:

* **Customer Segments**
* **Value Propositions**
* **Channels**
* **Customer Relationships**
* **Revenue Streams**
* **Key Resources**
* **Key Activities**
* **Key Partnerships**
* **Cost Structure**

A **Sources** list shows what the analysis cited. Standard and Deep runs also fill the **Momentum** tab (trends affecting the company), which means Essential and higher plans, or pay-as-you-go at Standard or Deep. Deep runs add the **Assumptions** tab (what the analysis depends on, by risk), which means Professional, or pay-as-you-go at Deep. See [Work with framework results](/docs/strategy/framework-results) and [Analysis depth](/docs/strategy/analysis-depth).
