# Run McKinsey 7-S in StratEngine

> Check whether a company's strategy, structure, systems, values, skills, staff and style line up, and get the result as an editable McKinsey 7-S.

McKinsey 7-S in StratEngine answers one question: are the seven internal parts of your company pulling in the same direction? It looks at strategy, structure, systems, shared values, skills, staff and leadership style, and points to where they don't fit together. It needs the Professional plan or pay-as-you-go.

<Note>
  McKinsey 7-S carries the **Advanced** badge. It's included on the Professional plan and higher, and pay-as-you-go accounts can run it per analysis. On other plans its card shows **Upgrade** instead of **Select**. See [Strategy plans](/docs/strategy/billing/plans) and [pricing](https://stratengineai.com/#pricing).
</Note>

## When to use it

* Your strategy has changed but the way the company is organized hasn't caught up.
* Execution feels slow and you want to find which internal piece is out of step.
* You're planning a reorganization, merger or leadership change and want a before picture.
* You're advising a client and need a structured read on internal alignment.

## What you get

The **Components** tab has a **Framework Summary** and one **Framework Details** section for each of the seven elements:

* **Strategy**
* **Structure**
* **Systems**
* **Shared Values**
* **Skills**
* **Staff**
* **Style**

Every section is editable, and **Sources** lists what the analysis cited. Standard and Deep runs also fill the **Momentum** tab (trends affecting the company), which means Essential and higher plans, or pay-as-you-go at Standard or Deep. Deep runs add the **Assumptions** tab (what the analysis depends on, by risk), which means Professional, or pay-as-you-go at Deep. See [Work with framework results](/docs/strategy/framework-results) and [Analysis depth](/docs/strategy/analysis-depth).

    Under **Framework Inputs (Optional)**, McKinsey 7-S asks for one input per element: **Strategic Priorities**, **Organizational Structure**, **Critical Systems & Processes**, **Cultural Values & Beliefs**, **Core Competencies & Skills**, **Workforce Composition** and **Management Style**. Internal details like culture and management style are hard to find publicly, so filling these in makes the biggest difference.
