# Run Value Disciplines Model in StratEngine

> Run the Value Disciplines Model in StratEngine to see which of three paths to market leadership fits your company. Essential plan and up.

A Value Disciplines Model run assesses the company you describe against three ways to lead a market (operational excellence, customer intimacy and product leadership) and recommends where to focus. It's a **Growth** framework, so you need the Essential plan or higher.

<Note>
  Value Disciplines Model is available on Essential and Professional plans, and on pay-as-you-go. On Free it shows an **Upgrade** button instead of **Select**. See [Strategy plans](/docs/strategy/billing/plans).
</Note>

## When to use it

* The company is trying to be cheapest, closest to customers and most innovative at once, and you need to pick a lead.
* You're deciding where extra budget should go: operations, customer service or R\&D.
* You want to check whether the current strategy matches how the company spends.

## What you get

The **Components** tab opens with an **Executive Summary**, then four sections under **Framework Details**:

* **Operational Excellence**
* **Customer Intimacy**
* **Product Leadership**
* **Strategic Recommendations**

A **Sources** list shows what the analysis cited. Standard and Deep runs also fill the **Momentum** tab (trends affecting the company), which means Essential and higher plans, or pay-as-you-go at Standard or Deep. Deep runs add the **Assumptions** tab (what the analysis depends on, by risk), which means Professional, or pay-as-you-go at Deep. See [Work with framework results](/docs/strategy/framework-results) and [Analysis depth](/docs/strategy/analysis-depth).
