A workspace is your company’s account in StratEngine. Everyone from your company signs in to the same workspace, shares one plan, and sees the same saved companies, private documents and VC memos. Strategy briefs, frameworks and decks stay private to the person who made them.

How you get a workspace

StratEngine creates or finds your workspace the first time you sign in, based on your email address:
  • A work email (for example you@yourfirm.com): if someone at your company already uses StratEngine, you join their workspace as a member. Otherwise StratEngine creates a workspace for your company and makes you its admin.
  • A personal email (for example Gmail, Outlook.com or iCloud): you get a workspace of your own. Personal workspaces can’t add other members.
An admin can also add a teammate by email. See Team members and roles. You belong to one workspace at a time. A workspace is either a Strategy workspace or a VC workspace, depending on its plan.

What a workspace shares

Because private documents are shared, upload one only if everyone in your workspace should be able to see it.

Roles

Each person is an Admin or a Member. Admins manage the team, billing and connections; members use everything else. An admin can also set someone to Deactivated, which blocks them from the workspace until an admin changes their role back. One admin is also the billing owner, whose payment details pay for the plan. See Team members and roles and Transfer billing ownership.
