To export a deck, open its strategy brief and click Export in the toolbar. What you get depends on your export destination: with Google Drive connected, StratEngine creates Google Slides in your Drive and opens them. With any other destination, or none, it downloads a PowerPoint (.pptx) file.

What you get

To get Google Slides instead of PowerPoint, connect Google Drive as your export destination in Settings. See Connect cloud storage.

Export the deck

1

Open the strategy brief

Open the brief the deck was built from. The Export button appears once the brief has a deck. If you don’t see it, generate a deck first.
2

Click Export

The button changes to Exporting… and a progress bar appears under the toolbar.
3

Open the result

Google Slides open in a new tab, or your browser downloads the PowerPoint file. If a new tab doesn’t open, allow pop-ups for StratEngine and click View Slides.
The document viewer toolbar after exporting a deck to Google Slides, with the View Slides link at the end
Export uses the deck as it was last generated. If the deck shows Outdated, click Regenerate Deck first so the export matches the current brief. See Outdated decks. Each export makes a new copy. Exporting again doesn’t update a copy you exported earlier.

Find exported Google Slides later

  • On the brief, click View Slides in the toolbar. It opens your most recent export.
  • In File Manager, filter by Presentations. Each export is listed with the project name and the export date. See File Manager.
PowerPoint downloads aren’t listed in StratEngine. Look in your browser’s downloads folder.

Fonts in Google Slides and PowerPoint

Decks use two fixed fonts: Carlito for body text and Bricolage Grotesque for headings. When you open an exported deck in Google Slides, the font menu shows Carlito. That’s expected and isn’t an error: Carlito is the font the deck was designed with, and keeping it stops text from reflowing. Brand kits don’t change fonts. See Brand kits.
